Herzlich Wilkommen:) Fascinated in German? Or maybe even crazy about it? Me too:) I'm a German Teacher currently teaching at two colleges and running my own small language training center LanguageMania. I love German, I love languages:) So I'm sharing my passion with all passionate ones or those who need some help with that beautiful mysterious language. HOW TO GET GERMAN LETTERS ON YOUR COMPUTER
Want to type in German? That's easy!
For Windows Vista:
1. Control Panel
2. Clock, Language and Region
3. Regional and Language Options
4. Keyboards and Languages
5. Change Keyboards
6. General: choose a German keyboard, highlight, and press "Add" on your right, then OK and OK and done!
In the right bottom of your computer screen you should see a little "EN" or "DE", you can click on it anytime and chose the keyboard you want to use. You can change the keyboard faster by pressing "Shift+Alt".
The German keyboard is a little different, so you will have to learn it. Some differences:
- instead of Y there is Z and the other way around
- the Umlauts are under the English signs:
[ = ü, ; = ö, ' = ä, - = ß, or ? (with shift)
